Oregon law requires all cars to be insured by their owners. A large percentage of cars are driven every day on Oregon streets and highways without car insurance. The consequences of getting pulled over without insurance are: 1. A Fine, 2. Impound fees, towing and storage costs, 3. Increased cost of your car insurance, and 4. SR22 requirement for 3 years.
If you are involved in an accident and don't have insurance, your license will be suspended for a year. If it is your fault, you must pay for the other party's damages and injuries out of your own pocket.
