Oregon has four mandatory auto insurance coverages where most other states only require two:
One. Bodily injury liability. You are responsible for paying for the injury you cause to others in an accident.
Two. Property damage liability. You must pay to fix the other car or property if you are at fault in accident.
Three. Personal Injury Protection. You must cover yourself and your passengers for medical bills you have after an accident.
And Four. Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury. Your insurance will pay for your injuries caused by someone who hits you and doesn't have insurance.
