If you plan to move and have a pretty good idea where, call or text us with the new address, and we will estimate whether your auto insurance rates will go up or down. We'll also check the change in price of your renters' insurance policy.
Moving Outside of Oregon
The rate you have now may stay in effect until the end of your current policy if you move to a different state, if your insurance company does not do business in the new state. If your insurer offers insurance at that new location, they will encourage you to look for a new agent and have them rewrite your policy, although you may still keep your existing policy until the term's end. In some cases, the price for the same coverage might be favorable. Either way, it is always better to switch to a new policy as it will have policy language suited for the laws and coverages required for that state.
Let us know what your new zip code or city will be, and we will help find an agent closest to your new home.
A change of address sometimes surprises policyholders. Auto insurance prices are tied to the zip code where you live. Insurance companies periodically perform a statistical analysis for each area of the State of Oregon, and the data may show that a particular zip code suffered more significant losses than one next door, where claims may have declined. Auto insurance in one zip code will rise in cost while the other drops after the company releases the new rates. No one ever complains if they move to a zip code that is lower in premium.
